The NJDEP intends to issue a CAFRA permit with a linear development waiver for Railroad Avenue from Lacey Road to South Street. The integrity and continuity of the Barnegat Branch Trail will be destroyed. Thousands of mature trees will come down, pedestrian safety will be compromised, and the Lacey taxpayers will be footing a $14 – $24 million bill to build a 1.9 mile roadway that is not needed. Please send your comments asking for the NJDEP to NOT ISSUE a CAFRA permit and linear development waiver no later than August 20, 2013.
SEND YOUR COMMENTS AGAINST THE PROJECT TO: Charles Welch, Supervisor, Land Use Regulation Program, P.O. Box 439, Trenton, NJ 08625 or email to: Charlie.Welch@dep.state.nj.us. Once the trail is gone, it is gone forever!!
The Barnegat Branch Trail is progressing through the south end of Lacey Township! Check out the progress from the Waretown/Lacey border to Lakeside Drive S. in Forked River. The trail should be ready for bikers, joggers and walkers by summer’s end.
Hope you came out on National Trails Day on June 1st. Pedestrian traffic was heavy on the Barnegat Branch Trail in Barnegat, Waretown and Bayville.
SEND THE ABOVE LETTER WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS TO Lindsey.Logan@dep.state.nj.us or mail to the address below.
